Wisdom From Above

James 3:17 - "But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace- loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity"

God’s wisdom is superior than the wisdom of this world – It is pure, then peace-loving, gentle, willing to yield, full of compassion, good deeds, and without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy.

The bible says that the worldy wisdom is self-centered, and demonic, creates jealousy and bitterness in our hearts (Jas 3:14 & 15)

And the wisdom of God is freely available to all of us and we don’t have to qualify to get access to His wosdom, the blood of Jesus has qualified us already, so we got to simply ask as we read in - James 1:5 "Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to everyone generously without a rebuke, and it will be given to him" and also P
roverbs 2:6 says - "For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding."

Let’s be prudent and ask God to fill us with his ‘divine’ wisdom so that we could lead a successful and victorious life here on earth, accomplishing great and mighty things for His glory.

Crown of Glory

Isaiah 62:3 - "You shall also be a crown of glory In the hand of the Lord, And a royal diadem In the hand of your God."

“Crown” is given to those who had won an athletic contest, the crown given to a soldier for valour in combat, or the crown worn by a king. In any case, it rewarded an extraordinary achievement. However, even though our salvation is a gift we do not earn, our God not only promises eternal life to those who follow His Son, He promises many extra rewards to those who obey Him. Jesus promised that those who would leave everything to follow Him would receive a hundredfold reward in addition to eternal life (Mark 10:29–31).

Though we must not forget that we do not earn our salvation, this verse shows that God’s faithful servants can expect a reward. When we, whether or not we are ordained elders, faithfully care for those under our authority, we can expect to receive an unfading crown of glory. He promises His faithful servants rewards for their obedience.

Let's ask the Lord to help us live in gratitude for these blessings and use them to glorify Him. As the word of God says “When the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory” (1 Peter 5:4).

Presence of God

Psalms 16:11 - "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."

God's presence provides comfort in times of trouble (or anxiety) and when we seek Him we find encouragement and strength to praise Him. Knowing God is present will keep our behaviour respectful and humble, for God hears our every word and holds us accountable. He will not tolerate pride, and will bring our speech under his judgment. However, He will exalt those who humble themselves before Him.

God also displayed His presence as a place of worship. The Bible describes heaven as a place filled with God's presence. Angels stand in God's presence and act on His authority as He directs them. Christ completed His earthly ministry by entering "heaven itself, now to appear for us in God's presence".

God's presence is a place where prayer is heard. David sought the Lord's presence when Israel faced a three-year famine. We can approach the Lord with confidence because of Christ's finished work on our behalf. Furthermore, God promises to hear and forgive those who come into his presence with humble repentance.

And God's presence is also a place of blessing. David counted it a joy to experience the Lord's presence, and Peter described it as the source of blessing for all who place their faith in Christ. To experience God's presence is to experience the shining of God's face (Psalm 67:1) and He has promised to be with us until He comes again.

Let's strive to be in God's presence as this is the ultimate place of blessing, which will motivate us to be faithful in all that we do.

Who Is Like Our God?

Psalms 113:-5-9 - "Who is like the Lord our God, who is seated on high, who looks far down on the heavens and the earth? He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap, to make them sit with princes, with the princes of his people. He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the Lord."

The God of the Bible has no equal. He is eternal and has created all things. To what can He be compared? Actually, this question has already been asked in Scripture, by God Himself: “To whom then will you compare me, that I should be like him? says the Holy One” (Isaiah 40:25). The clear answer to this question echoes throughout Scripture: “Therefore You are great, O Lord GOD. For there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You” (2 Samuel 7:22).

Yes, humans are made in the image or likeness of God, but that does not make us like (i.e., equal to) God. God is unique from every other being and thing because He alone is infinite and uncreated. We are finite, but the Lord has no beginning or end. Scripture states, “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God” - (Psalms 90:2)

David understood the greatness of God when he asked, “What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?” (Psalm 8:4). When we consider the incomparably awesome Creator God and the fact that He loves you and me, we should fall to our knees in humble worship.

Let's acknowledge our position of utter dependence on the great I AM for there is no God like our God.

God Is My Help - Our Only Source

Psalms 54:4 – “Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me”

Today we might be facing a situation or going through a time where everything seems to be working against us. A condition where our knowledge, ability, and strength ceases and the only option that we have is to surrender to the circumstances.

This is the time that we need to lift our voices to God who not only hears us but also knows and understands our condition better and He has the answer/solution for what we are facing right now.

And many times during these challenging times we tend to focus more on the circumstances than the solution provider, we try to find solution through the created things than the Creator Himself - "I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth." - Psalms 121:1-2
God is our help and He is able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than what we can ever ask or imagine/even think of. He can turn the tables around, turn the situation favorable to us and keep us safe because of His loving kindness and tender mercies.

So let’s reach out to Him and ask Him to intervene into our lives today and lets' completely believe that our help comes from God and God alone.

Have A Blessed Day!

The Trust Factor

Psalms 37:5 - "Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act."

Trusting God is simply believing that He loves you, He’s good, He has the power to help you, He wants to help you, and He will help you. Christians are called believers, but many times, we are more like unbelieving believers. We trust our friends, the bank, the stock market or the government more than we trust God and His Word.

In John 15:5, Jesus says that apart from Him, we can do nothing. We need to lean on Him for help with everything in our lives.

Sometimes we do get what you want, only to discover that it doesn't make us happy after all, just disillusioned. Many of us repeat this cycle our entire life, wondering what we're doing wrong and we should know.

The Secret is in the 'Doing' - A spiritual secret exists that can free us from this cycle: Trusting God.

The secret lies in putting this truth into practice, by making it such a powerful theme in our life that we view every event, every sorrow, every prayer with the unshakable conviction that God is totally, spotlessly trustworthy.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

Life is simple and peaceful when we come to God like little children and say, “God, I don’t want to live on my own. I want to trust You. When I don’t know what to do, I’ll trust You. When I don’t understand why, I’ll trust You. I’ll do my part with Your help, and when I’m done, I’ll trust You to do the rest.”

Armour of God

Ephesians 6:10-18 - "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints."

The full armour of God is our spiritual defense against attacks of Satan. The armor of God is a call for action we need to take in our spiritual lives. Paul sets the stage for us that we are fighting a war, and the stakes are higher than they have ever been in human history.

Who's our enemy? Not flesh and blood, no human foe—we fight against a much more fearsome opponent, our adversary, Satan the devil, and his host of demons have a single, driving purpose: to steal, kill and destroy the children of God.

Faced with the cares of this world, we can easily forget about the severity of this battle. But make no mistake: Our spiritual lives and future in God's Kingdom are on the line. If we lose this war, we lose everything. What can we do in the face of such overwhelming odds? Is there any hope?

Paul has the answer. In V.13, he gives the call to arms. By putting on all of God's armour we can be assured of withstanding our enemy's onslaughts.

Let's put on the armor and strength of God to effectively wage war against our enemy, the devil. Without it, we are helpless—but with it, we are soldiers of the living God, and "more than conquerors through Him who loved us" (Romans 8:37).

The New Life

Ephesians 4:21-24 - "Assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness."

What does New Life mean to us? In v.17 Paul writes that we should no longer walk like the worldly people who doesn't have a stable (clear) mind and who practice all kinds of impurity and goes after every filthiness that is there in they world, the people whose hear is hardened and no longer sensitive to the Holy Spirit. God wants us to keep away from such practices and people. (1 Peter 2:9-10) says that -  "You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy."

And Paul says in Romans 6:6 that - "We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin."

How are we supposed to live this New Life? The answer is in (2 Timothy 2:22-25) - "Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts. Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. 25 Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth."

Great Things

Psalms 126:3 - "The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad."

Are we grateful to God for the great things that He as done for us? Many a times we ignore the blessings of God over our life, sometimes it may not be very significant to the outside world but has greatly impacted (changed) our lives. As a child of God we need to be thankful to God for being good to us and sparing our lives. - "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." (Romans 5:8)

Wouldn’t it be a blessing to have all that we have lost…restored….beyond what we had before? To be able to laugh and sing songs of joy in community and have all those around us point to God and give Him the honor and glory for what He has done in our lives? That would be amazing! "Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you." (Jeremiah 32:17)

It reminds me that we have a big, big God and that He is not limited by our small thinking. God is in the business of doing way more than we can even dream. "Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Fear of The Lord

Psalms 128:1-2 - "Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways! You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you."

Blessed is everyone whose walk is blameless before God and men. God wants us to walk the talk and in order to receive His blessing over our lives we must walk in His light and do the right thing in the sight of God and men. Fearing God is good because it saves us from caving into our own sinful nature. That's why hearing someone is God-fearing actually makes us trust that person more. If they fear God, they are more likely to keep their word and treat others with kindness.

Unfortunately, many of us presume that the world is the ultimate threat and that God's function is to offset it. How different this is from the biblical position that God is far scarier than the world …. When we assume that the world is the ultimate threat, we give it unwarranted power, for in truth, the world's threats are temporary. When we expect God to balance the stress of the world, we reduce him to the world's equal …. As I walk with the Lord, I discover that God poses an ominous threat to my ego, but not to me. He rescues me from my delusions, so he may reveal the truth that sets me free. He casts me down, only to lift me up again. He sits in judgment of my sin, but forgives me nevertheless. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, but love from the Lord is its completion.

And, of course, the ultimate example of fear and perfect love working together is Jesus Christ. He warned us at every turn to fear God, not men—and he confirmed that in everything about his life and death. He spoke lovingly but frankly to all and didn't mince words when people needed to face their sin and repent. But he also demonstrated love beyond human understanding when he lived out his words, "There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends (John 15:13)." With love like that, what is left to fear but God?

Believing God

Mark 11:24 - "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

Christian life is a life of hope, faith and belief. Therefore Jesus said in V.23 - "Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him."

When our belief is strong and accompanied with our prayer of faith then we can really see/receive the answers to our prayers. The Bible tells us that we are not just to pray, but rather to pray believing. If we are specifically told to believe when we pray, then it must be possible to pray and not believe. Not all prayer brings results. Only believing prayer moves God and receives from Him.Believing takes the emphasis off of prayer itself, and puts the emphasis entirely on God Himself. It is all about Him and His faithfulness. The Bible does not teach us to rely on prayer alone. It teaches us to rely on Him. Only when we can fully rely on Him can we fully pray believing. We are to believe Him first, and then express that belief in prayer. The faith must be in the heart before the prayer comes out of the mouth.

Let's believe and trust God that He will answer our prayers today - "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." - (Mathew 21:22)

Taming Our Tongue

Psalms 120:2-4 - "Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue. What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, you deceitful tongue? A warrior's sharp arrows, with glowing coals of the broom tree!"

There are many scriptures in the bible about lying lips and deceitful tongue, being the one of smallest part of the body it has the potential to cause greatest damage to our lives if not in control. "For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell." - (James 3:2-10)

The bible says that "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits." - (Proverbs 18:21) The words that comes out of our mouth can either build someone or destroy relationships and we need to be very careful about what we say because we cannot take back the words that we have spoken, so"Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear." - (Ephesians 4:29)

Let's ask the Holy Spirit to guard our mouth and keep it from all evil - "Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips! - (Psalms 141:3)

God My Helper

Psalms 119:173 - "Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts."

We serve a God who is always ready to help those who are in need and those who call upon Him in distress. He is an Everlasting and Ever-loving God who loves to help us when we get into trouble, therefore we need not be discouraged for He has said - "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6)

However, for Him to intervene and solve our problems, we need to keep our lives away from all kinds of evil and our character needs to be clean to receive His blessings - "Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down relax My hold on you)! Assuredly not!]" (Hebrews 13:5-6 AMP)

Let's be encouraged this morning as we diligently follow His percepts in our lives, He is always ready to help us and there is nothing too hard or difficult for Him, for He can make impossible things possible for us.

Divine Guidance (Part 2)

Psalms 73:24 - "You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory."

How are we to work our way in strange lands, if left entirely to our own resources?
Hence the Lord is called the guide of his people. We are in a foreign land, a land of pits and snares and without a good guide, we will be sure to fall into the one, or be caught in the other. "This God is our God, for ever and ever," saith the psalmist; and not only so, but he condescends to "be our guide, and will be, even unto death" (Psalms 48:14).

God still works with us: he does not only give grace, but actual help in the work of obedience: "He worketh all our works in us," (Isaiah 26:12). His actual help is necessary to direct, quicken, strengthen, protect and defend us. In our way to heaven, we need not only a rule and path, but a guide. The rule is the law of God; but the guide is the Spirit of God.

After all our toil in labour and duty, after all our crosses and afflictions, after all our doubts and fears that we should never receive it; after all the hiding of His face, and clouds and darkness that have passed over us; and after all our battles and fightings for it....Surely His reward will come in at the right time (season).

For God says "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you." (Psalms 32:8)

Health & Prosperity

3 John 1:2 - "Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.."

Prosperity with health is a great gain. God delights in our well and never wants us to be sick our suffer any lack in out lives. Yes, He sometimes allows them to bring correction or to take us to a new level of faith and blessing and in all these He wants us to know that He is the source of all provision - Our Mighty Provider and Our Might Healer.

We face challenges when we move our focus from the Creator to His created things. So How does God prosper His people? The answer is God “blesses you materially as your soul prospers on His Word. God’s plan is for us to grow financially as we grow spiritually.” The reason: God “knows it is dangerous to put great wealth into the hands of someone who is too spiritually immature to handle it.”

God’s Word is full of promises and principles concerning our physical health. That’s why, if we want to be healthy every day of our lives, we cannot be ignorant of the Word and all that it has to say—nor disobedient to it. David asks the question in Psalm 34:12—“What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?” The answer he gives is in verses 11, 13-14: “Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.... Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.”

Let's make every effort to grow spiritually so that we prosper in every area of our life.

My Rock And My Fortress

Psalms 18:2-"The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."

The Lord is my rock - The idea in this expression, is that we owe our safety entirely to God. He had been unto us as a rock, a tower, a buckler, etc. The word "rock" here has reference to the fact that in times of danger a lofty rock would be sought as a place of safety, or that men would fly to it to escape from their enemies. Such rocks become places of refuge in times of danger; and protection is often found there when it could not be found in the plains below.

He has been to us as a fortress. The word fortress means a place of defense, a place so strengthened that an enemy could not approach it, or where one would be safe. Such fortresses were often constructed on the rocks or on hills, where those who fled there would be doubly safe.

And my deliverer - Delivering or rescuing us from my enemies. My God in whom we have found all that is implied in the idea of "God" - a Protector, Helper, Friend, Father, Saviour. The notion or idea of a "God" is different from all other ideas, and David had found, as the Christian now does, all that is implied in that idea, in Yahweh, the living God.

And the horn of my salvation - The "horn" is to animals the means of their defense. Their strength lies in the horn. Hence, we owe our protection and defense in danger.

Let's take refuge in God who is our strength, our protector, our defender and our rock and our fortress.

I'm Forgiven

Jeremiah 31:34 - "And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord, ’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."

There's an old saying: "To err is human, to forgive divine." That's true. We all sin and we all need to be forgiven, and the Bible says, "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" - Romans 5:8.

He loves us so much that he sacrificed his life to forgive us for our sins, even those that we repeat again and again. And we may think that it's so easy to take advantage of God's love. In Romans, Paul confronts such thinking: "Should we sin because we are not ruled by law but by God's grace? Not at all! Don't you know that when you give yourselves to obey someone you become that person's slave? You can be slaves of sin. Then you will die. Or you can be slaves who obey God. Then you will live a godly life" - Romans 6:15-16.

The choices that we make in our lives determines the continuity of blessings of God over our lives. And even after knowing our behaviour is wrong and continually opting for wrong over right is choosing to turn our back on God. And that's a dangerous place to remain in. "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth" - Romans 1:18 and "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." - Hebrews 10:31

Let's remember that we are alive and forgiven by the grace of God and the finished work of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on the cross.

Irrevocable

Romans 11:29 - "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."

God never changes his mind when he gives gifts or calls someone and they are under full warranty – never canceled, never rescinded.

We can run from our calling or abuse our gifts. We can make stupid choices that limit our effectiveness. We can be distracted by the world or rejected by the church, deceived by the devil or pursued by trivia. But our dead ends or detours haven’t changed our gifts and calling. Our gifts and calling are first and foremost means to be with Jesus. They are gateways to spiritual intimacy first – then avenues of spiritual power.

Nobody deserves or earns grace gifts – and that’s what all gifts and callings are. They are tangible expressions of the goodness and unmerited favor of God. We don’t interview for gifts or calling. We receive them when we believe the gospel and receive Christ as our Lord.

Every believer has to find out what their gift is and the only one who knows where we will best be used is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. If we never spend time praying and seeking God about our place in the body of Christ, we are robbing ourself as well as the kingdom God of a great blessing.

"Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you. Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress. Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers." - 1 Timothy 4:14

A Pure Heart

Jeremiah 24:7 - "I will give them a heart to know that I am the Lord, and they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart."

God has given us a good heart and its our responsibility to keep it pure and undefiled.

So, how does our heart get undefiled?
The answer is in (Mathew 15:18-20) - "But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”

We are what we we think and say we are! "A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of." - (Mathew 6:45)

In the Jesus's "parable of the sower," those with a good "heart" were like seed planted in good soil:
"But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the Word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience." (Luke 8:15)

Paul expounded on the virtues of a "pure heart" that has been purged of carnal behavior:
"If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart." (2 Timothy 2:21-22)

Let's strive towards living a righteous life, keeping our hearts pure from all the filthiness in this world. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." - (Mathew 5:8)

Lamentations 3:22-23 - "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

The reason we were created is to love and serve Him. So our mere existence is because of His great love. There's one thing we can count on: the steadfast love of the Lord. Just as certain as the sun will rise in the morning, we can trust and know that his strong love and tender mercies will greet us anew each day.

The beauty of this concept is that He loves us just as we are and we cannot ignore this truth in our lives - He loves us just the way we are, no matter if we have gone astray and wandered away from His love and got into a shell thinking that the multitude of our sins can overshadow His love, then we are certainly wrong because His loves covers all our sins as He has already paid the price with His very life on the cross.

He is always there ready with His outstretched arms to receive (accept, embrace) us.

Let's give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His love endures forever.

Have a Blessed Day!

The Good Shepherd

John 10:11 - "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."

Why would such a great God die for worthless sinners like us? Why would he do that? Is it because we are good? I don’t think so. We cannot find any other reason than love, his genuine love and compassion for us. And Jesus died for us in order to pay off the debt for all our sins. Jesus didn’t accidently die, like many great people. The hands of men crucified him, and yet it wasn’t because he was too weak to resist against those who crucified him that died. Jesus intended to die for our sins. He died in order to pay off the debt of all our sins, so that we might be forgiven, healed and restored to have eternal life. Although we know our parents and many loved us, they couldn’t die for our sins. But Jesus is the good shepherd because he laid down his life for us.

How wonderful it is to know that we are fully known by God who also laid down his life for us. He didn’t die helplessly. He didn’t remain dead. He rose again from the dead and gave us eternal life. And now he is living within those who believe in him. Sometimes, we feel that we are walking through the valley of the shadow of death all by ourselves. No one seems to understands. But we should never let worry take control over us because we are not alone. Our good shepherd is always on our side. He deeply cares for each of us.

So as you fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings and as one who shares in the glory that will be revealed, I urge the elders among you: Give a shepherd’s care to God’s flock among you, exercising oversight not merely as a duty but willingly under God’s direction, not for shameful profit but eagerly. And do not lord it over those entrusted to you, but be examples to the flock. Then when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that never fades away - (1 Peter 5:1-4)

Divine Guidance

Psalms 73:24 - "You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory."

He is our divine guide and has placed various signposts in our lives which should enable us to walk in His way and reach every goal that we have set in our lives. He loves us therefore He is ever ready to guide us, counsel (advice) us and show us the things that we ought to do. - "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you." - Psalms 32:8

Where do we go for counsel/guidance? Do we go with the knowledge of this world or may be take counsel from the experienced/intellect? We serve an Omniscient God, who know us before we were even formed in our mother's womb - “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations." - Jeremiah 1:5.  Only a creator has the full knowledge of his created things and the God who has formed us and breathed life into us knows everything about us - past, present and future, He knows us more than we know about ourselves, He knows the paths that we'll take in future, the mistakes we will make and yet He loves us!

Let's ask the Holy Spirit to intervene into our lives, for He is our mighty Counsellor, Comforter and Helper who will guide us to the truth and enable us to live our lives powerfully in this world, fulfilling our plans and dreams thereby bringing glory to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Peace of God

Isaiah 26:12 - "LORD, you will grant us peace; all we have accomplished is really from you."

We are what we are today not because of our efforts but because of His love, grace and tender mercies upon our lives. It is God who has enabled us to achieve everything in our lives. So our mind is never at war because God has released His peace upon us.

The mind and heart of a person undergoes constant and strenuous conflicts with regards to one’s living conditions so that the basic necessities of the life is met which are food, clothing and shelter which are also interrelated. The world drifts our focus from the creator to the created things of God stealing the glory that completely belongs to God and that is what many Christians today are seeking after, the things that can imitate taking the place of His peace and leading them into a life of emptiness, rebellion, strife and dissatisfaction. And Paul says in Philippians 4:6-7 - "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Its time for us to come out of the shell of worldly thinking/desires/understanding & standards and move into the presence of God by setting our heart and mind on the things above so that we receive (walk in ) His peace.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

The Restorer

Zechariah 9:12 - "Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope; today I declare that I will restore to you double."

It is not over until God says it’s over! No matter how dark our life may look, with Christ our future is bright. Our God is a God of restoration! He is a God of new things. A new life, a new beginning, new covenant, new hearts, and new way of doing things. Because he is a God of new things there is always hope and future. There is joy and peace. Listen what the Scripture says, “I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the LORD” Jeremiah 30: 17.

Let's open our heart for God’s healing who is a master craftsman. He specializes in taking what is not and creating what is. He is in the business of restoring hopes, broken dreams, wounded spirits, troubled minds, and hopeless lives.

Does our situation seems hopeless, dim, broken, beyond repair and without luster, only God can restore and make it new. There is nothing beyond his power of restoration. God can restore, and God can forgive, and God can take a broken vessel and remake and refashion all over again. He will give us peace and hope. He will give us meaning to our life. He will satisfy us and make us whole.

Let's allow him to restore us lovingly, and we will never be the same again.

God of Hope

Jeremiah 17:17 - "Lord, don’t terrorize me! You alone are my hope in the day of disaster."

We need put our hope in God always because only He can rescue us (set us free /save us) from the snares of the enemy.

We need to cast all our burdens unto Him for He cares for us and took all our burden and shame upon the cross to set us free from every form (or kind) of captivity (stronghold).

We don't have to wait for situations or circumstances to take control over our lives, we just have to bring it (submit it) before God and He will not only handle our situations better but also provide us the strength and wisdom required at that point of time.

"I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit." - Romans 15:13

Unconditional Love

Lamentations 3:22-23 - "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

God loves us with an unconditional love unlike mankind where the love is usually conditional, we offer to help/love only those who love us and are good to us, such love is a selfish love. God wants us to love Him unconditionally because He loves us unconditionally and expects us to imitate Him in all the walks of our lives which means our attitude towards God and others should change and we need to look at (or approach) others with selfless love.

The present condition of the world is in chaos, we see love of money and power dominating and influencing the lives of people. Paul said in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 - "But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self- control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power."

Let's ask God to fill us with His love and power so that we can carry the same to the world and make a difference. For His love never ceases and His mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning and great is His faithfulness.

Mighty Warrior

Jeremiah 20:11 - "But the Lord is with me as a dread warrior; therefore my persecutors will stumble; they will not overcome me. They will be greatly shamed, for they will not succeed. Their eternal dishonour will never be forgotten."

We serve a powerful God. A dread warrior, mighty terrible one who created the heaven and the earth, created us and has all the powers to destroy (wipe out) the enemy completely. As we believe (trust & hope) in Him, we do have access to His great and mighty power.

He is our fortress, our mighty shield, our refuge, our stronghold and everything that has comes against us should encounter Him first before reaching us and this means that we are forever safe as long as we are rooted and grounded in Him - "no weapon that is fashioned (formed) against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord." - Isaiah 54:17

He can make impossible things possible for us and He can turn situations/circumstances favourable to us. - "What is impossible with man is possible with God." - Luke 18:27

Let's overcome every thought that holds us captive and move in His mighty love and protection over our lives.

My Redeemer Lives

Job 19:25 - "I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth."

A great song to start our day - My Redeemer Lives....
Yes, our redeemer is alive and He is ever more powerful to rescue us and watch upon us and indeed bless us everyday.

Are we heavily burdened, barely able to carry on with life? Then its time to bring it on before God - "casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you." - 1 Peter 5:7

Let's declare and claim the below words over our lives and expect God to move powerfully and change our lives.

- I know that my Redeemer lives and He lives -

- to save eternally
- to bless me with His love
- to plead for me above
- to feed my hungry soul
- to help in time of need
- to grant me rich supply
- to guide me with His eye
- to comfort me when faint
- to silence all my fears
- to wipe away my tears
- to calm my troubled heart
- to impart all blessings
- to take me with Him for eternity

The Lord Saves

Psalms 55:16 - "But I call to God, and the Lord saves me."

We call Him Savior because He saves. He saves our lives and saves us from every wickedness in this world and from every attacks of the enemy. From the very time Jesus was born, He was know as the savior of all mankind, that's His nature (character) and His desire is that none of us should perish.

No matter what situations (or circumstances) we go through, no matter how deep is our pit or how dark our world is, He can still save us. He bore our sins (failures) on the cross and now He is our 'Risen Savior' - Immanuel God who is with us always and who uphold us with His righteous right hand.

And to enjoy His supremacy over our lives we need to call Him (connect with Him), not just when we sail through rough waves but always, at all times. "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall." V.22

Let's make God the primary focus of our lives so that in Him, with Him and through Him we can get on the mountaintop of victory and enjoy our life in Jesus Christ.

Godly Peace

Colossians 3:2 - "Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth."

The Christian living is a call towards His peace. And how does His peace come?
God’s peace comes when we set our mind (and heart) on the things above, and not on earthly things.

The mind and heart of a person undergoes constant and strenuous conflicts with regards to one’s living conditions so that the basic necessities of the life is met which are food, clothing and shelter which are also interrelated. The world drifts our focus from the creator to the created things of God stealing the glory that completely belongs to God (Is. 48:11b) and that is what many Christians today are seeking after, the things that can imitate taking the place of His peace and leading them into a life of emptiness, rebellion, strife and dissatisfaction.

How does our mind & heart get dragged to the earthly things?
Paul tells, “that those who live according to the sinful nature have their mind set on what nature desires, but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on the things above (God)” (Rom.8:5).

Our Lord knew about the worldly circumstances that we will be encountering in our lives and that is why He said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you, I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled” (John 14:27).
And Jesus Christ is the Lord of peace and He himself gives us peace in all times and in everyway (2 Thes.3:16). The peace of God transcends all our understanding and guards our heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Phil.4:7).

Let's come out of the shell of worldly thinking/desires/understanding & standards and move into the presence of God by setting our heart and mind on the things above so that we receive (walk in ) His peace. “Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart & mind, since as members of one body you were called to peace and be thankful” (Col.3:15)

The Latter Rain

James 5:7 - "Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receive the early and latter rain."

The phrase 'former rain' is used in the Spring, and the 'latter Rain' denotes the autumn. The early rains prepare the soil for the seed sowing we see the farmers doing each and every year in the early Spring. Then, later in the year we see the latter rains ripen their crop for the coming harvest in the Fall.

We had the former rain during the ministry of Jesus Christ on earth followed by His disciples. And the latter rain is promised during Autumn so as to equip God's obedient children with the necessary skills to proclaim the present truth far and wide so as to assure a mighty harvest for the Lord when He returns seeking His bride.

It's time for us to realise and prepare for the second coming of Lord Jesus Christ, the time is running out and some of us have either got lot of things on their hands and some yet to prepare for the latter rain. Let's ask the Holy Spirit to quicken our hearts (ways) so that we are ready as His bride waiting for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Alpha and Omega

Revelation 1:8 - "I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."

Alpha and omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. Among the Jewish rabbis, it was common to use the first and the last letters of the Hebrew alphabet to denote the whole of anything, from beginning to end. Jesus as the beginning and end of all things is a reference to no one but the true God. This statement of eternality could apply only to God.

One of the meanings of Jesus being the “Alpha and Omega” is that He was at the beginning of all things and will be at the end. It is like saying, He always existed and will always exist. It was Christ, as second Person of the Trinity, who brought about the creation: “Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made” - John 1:3 and His Second Coming will be the beginning of the end of creation- 2 Peter 3:10. As God incarnate, He has no beginning, nor will He have any end with respect to time, being from everlasting to everlasting.

We are called to live as warriors and conquerors in this world and let's believe it and walk in His victory as His children - Revelations 21:6-7 - "And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son."

Jesus is Alive

Revelations 1:18 - "Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades."

The incorruptible truth that our Lord Jesus is 'Alive' should occupy our lives (mind, heart and body) daily and our actions to based on the fact that He is with us always, now and forevermore. Even death could not hold Him captive and He rose up from the death with keys of life and death. Therefore Jesus said - "“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?"

If we believe this, then our complete outlook towards life should change and we should become the change makers in this world. Our lives should be a reflection of His glory and manifestation of His wondrous works upon our lives. Are we ready for this? The hour us coming soon when we'll all be caught up in a moment, the moment that defines our eternal destiny.

Indeed, this is a mystery - "Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: 'Death is swallowed up in victory.' " - 1 Corinthian 15:51-54

Let's live our lives meaningfully, knowing the fact that He is Alive and will be with us forever.

God of Faithfulness

Deuteronomy 32:4 - "The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he."

Our God is a God of 'faithfulness' without injustice, righteous and upright in all His dealings. Many a times God shows His faithfulness even in the midst of our faithlessness. We also tend to forget that the Creator of Heaven and Earth also created us and He is always by our side. And nothing can separate us from His love. - Romans 8:38 - "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Are we faithful to God?

God is faithful because that is His character, just like He is Holy, or He is Love, or He is Righteousness. We cannot make God not faithful, whatever we have done; it will not make Him less faithful. We only can be faithful to someone we loved; and so is God, He is faithful because He loves us, and nothing will and can separate us from His mighty love. We may run away from many places, BUT we will never run away from His love. Deuteronomy 7:9 says - Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations."

How big is your faith to God, depends on how faithful you are to Him (and His Word).
