Prosperity

Psalm 35:27 - "Let them that shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant."

Our God is 'Jehovah Jireh' - 'the great provider' who besides our natural capability can bring extraordinary fruitfulness in our lives, for our God is slow to anger, but swift to show mercy.

Prosperity is not of the devil; it’s the will of God for us. God is the one who gives us the power/ability to get wealth, so He couldn’t possibly be against being rich and prosperous. He delights in our prosperity. The life God has given us in Christ is that of great glory and prosperity. We are ordained to prosper, not just financially or in certain aspects of your life, but all-round: in everything and in every way. This ought to be our experience in life.

How prosperous do you want to be? If you would delight yourself in the Lord, and meditate on His words regularly (or frequently), you will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water. You will bring forth fruit in due season; your leaves will not wither, and whatsoever you do shall prosper.

Let's seek His divine favour upon our lives and His grace to walk in obedience, so that He we will make us victorious, triumphant and prosperous.

God In Us

1 John 4:4 - "Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world."

Everyone thrives for power in this world. Countries are on 'arms race', invading and grabbing smaller & weaker foreign lands (neighbourhood), and we see the power of money (mammon) ruling the world of business today, because the ruler of this world is Satan.

But God reminds us that we are His and He has given us the power to overcome every powers of darkness that can comes against us - We read this in Isaiah 54:17a - "no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment"

Let's not go with the powers of this world rather completely rely on Him who is much more powerful than anything that ever existed or exists - Romans 8:31b says that - "If God is for us, who can be against us."

And always remember that the one who is in us is much greater than the one who is in the world, so let's believer it and declare it over our lives.

Have A Blessed Day!

Man of Valor

Judges 6:12 - And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, “The Lord is with you, O mighty man of valour."

What's our self-image? How do we see ourselves in front of others?Do we consider ourselves as weak, loser, ordinary, common..etc? But God looks at us differently, He always recognises us with what we'll be in the future. He knows our inside out, our plans, strategies, goals and He knows everything concerning our lives.

So when the angel appeared to Gideon and called him 'O might man of valor', he was actually not prepared to hear this statement and he couldn't connect himself with this attribute as he was from the weakest clan and had no recognition whatsoever in his family or the outside world, and he only believed when saw the proof, so it takes faith to accept the calling of God over our lives.

God always looks at us as an winner, achiever, strong and successful. Yes, an ordinary person being used for His extra-ordinary works.

So let's change the image that we carry about ourselves and upgrade it to the plan (or call) of God and walk as a warrior, a mighty man of valor.

Have A Blessed Day!

I am With You

Haggai 2:4b-5a - Be strong, all you people of the land, declares the Lord. Work, for I am with you, declares the Lord of hosts, according to the covenant that I made with you when you came out of Egypt. My Spirit remains in your midst. Fear not."

A very encouraging verse that makes our day that our God who has brought us out of our old nature (way of living) is with us always as promised and His Spirit remains in our midst so that we can carry on with our work boldly, without any fear.

Fear and insecurity can cripple our lives and the more we move towards it the more we suffer, so we need to realise the fact that the One who Has called us is faithful to complete every work that He has begun in our life. Paul says in Phillippians 1:6 - "And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." and we also read this in 1 Thes. 5:24 - "He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it."

So instead of worrying about the challenges, we need to focus on what lies ahead of us, so that He will bring the desired outcome.

Let's forget about the challenges we go through and focus on Him for He is our mighty 'Deliverer'

Taken Away

Job 1:21 - And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord."

How many of us will stand this truth? What will be our reactions when see blessings being taken away from our lives?

The verse above expresses the attitude that we should have as a child of God. When we are dealing with children, we sometimes take away certain things (majorly toys) from them because we know that they might get hurt while using (playing with) them, so the same principle applies to us as well.

Does our attitude change towards God when He takes away things (what we consider as good) from our life?
We need to practice what we learn and apply it in our day to day life, Job did it and we can see it from the very beginning of his life that he looked at all his achievements, recognitions, positions, material blessings in the similar way and we see in the Bible that his attitude towards God didn't change when he had lost everything including his children and God was well pleased with him and blessed him double-fold, so Job got back everything X2.

Let's look at the creator than the created things because positions, achievement, material blessings are temporary but our relationship with God is eternal.

Rear Guard

Isaiah 52:12 - "For you shall not go out in haste, and you shall not go in flight, for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard."

We need to acknowledge God in all our ways and make Him the primary focus in our lives. There is no situation or circumstance (or problem) bigger than God and He has every authority under the Heaven and on the Earth to deal with it. Many a times we complicate our lives (or situations) because of our hasty decisions and reactions, trying to use our own wisdom to deal with things.

Yes, its fine to use the wisdom that God has given us to take decisions, however if we see a greater consequence or the sense of failure then its better to bring it before God asking Him to deal with it because hasty decisions can be carnal/worldly decisions which might tarnish our image and walk with God.

We serve a mighty God who is always ready to go before us as in the battle protecting us from the front and the rear.

Let's submit all our situations (or problems) before Him because He can handle it much better and release us (save us) from every danger. For His presence will go before us and make all our crooked paths straight. He will guard us from every attack of the enemy whether its from front or rear and no tactics of the enemy can stand against His power and might.

Have A Blessed Day!

Mature Christian

In Ephesians 4 - we read about 'Mature Christian' living which includes a set of guidelines and steps that Paul practiced and he instructs the same to the Ephesians and also to us.  We can characterize these steps and guidelines into two categories; the do’s and don’ts in the Christendom, and practicing the Do's will make us a Mature Christian.  Mature Christian refers to the one who is completely free from every form of ungodliness and worldly passions. These do’s and don’ts leads to a 12-way steps, which has to be followed in order to become a Mature Christian as per Godly standards and to inherit the kingdom of God. As we go through these steps lets's ponder upon each and every step towards Godly perfection and experience the Life Changing Power of God.

DO’S

DON’TS

1. Live a life worthy of your calling by being faithful and obedient to God (V:1)
1. Give up futile thinking (V:17).
2. Be completely humble and gentle (V:2).
2. Don’t be ignorant (V:18).
3. Be patient and tolerant (love everybody), (V:2).
3. Don’t harden your heart (V:18).
4. Keep the unity of Spirit (strive for Godly peace) (V:3).
4. Avoid insensitivity towards the Holy Spirit of God (V:19).
5. Always speak the truth (V:15).
5. Avoid every form of impurity (V:19).
6. Completely put off the old nature (V:22).
6. Give up all worldly lust (V:19).
7. Live with a new attitude (renewed heart & mind) (V:23).
7. Don’t tell lies and put off every kind of falsehood (V:25).
8. Live a life of true righteousness and holiness (V:24).
8. Do not sin in your anger (rage) (V:26 & 31).
9. Have complete control over the tongue (V:29).
9. Do not steal or even think of possessing what belongs to others (V:28).
10. Always be kind and compassionate to others (V:32).
10. Avoid every form of ideal talking and do not slander (V:29 & 31) for you will be judged (Matt 12:36).
11. Forgive each other (V:32).
11. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God (V:30).
12. Work hard for self, for others, and for helping the needy (V:28).

Battle Belongs To The Lord

Exodus 14:14 - "The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

The only way which is always open is 'upward' and that is where our deliverance comes from. Many a times God brings us (allows us) into deeper valleys (crisis) of life, so that we are on our knees, become humble and look up unto Him as the only source of our deliverance.

During these challenging times when we find ourselves in the midst of a battle, the only option that remains is either to fight or to flee, so we need to look upward because only He - our ever-loving and ever-powerful God can deliver us from our deepest crisis in life.

We only need to commit our lives (plans) to Him so that He will take on every battle of our life and we just have to be (stay) silent to witness victory touching our feet. Psalms 37:7 - "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices".

Let's bring every battle to Him, for He will fight for us and we be silent to witness the joyful victory touching our feet.

Have A Blessed Day!

Resistance

Acts 7:51 - “You stiff- necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you."

Resisting is equivalent to opposing, when we resist the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives it means that we are opposing God and His very existence. Some of us have seen the works of the Holy Spirit in our lives, the victories that He had led us to, His guidance, and the things that we were able to achieve because of Him. And yet, our old ways of living and thoughts could captivate us and make us insensitive towards God and His calling over our lives.

It is important that we keep our focus on things that are above and not on the things below because the moment we focus on the things below than more often we see our our strength and credibility than God's power - Col. 3:2 - "Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth" There could also be godly people (believers) around us who might influence our walk with God and divert our minds to focus more on our strength, wisdom and achievement, which will in turn lead us into relying on natural wisdom than the super natural, we see this even in the life if Jesus when He was challenged by Peter - Mathew 16:23 - But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man."

And when we are overpowered by such thoughts then we have to simply resist the devil who puts these negative thoughts in our minds, thoughts of self pity, self-righteousness, self-glory, pride etc. - James 4:7 - "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

Let's be sensitive to the Holy Spirit in our daily lives than resisting Him as it will not take us anywhere and Holy Spirit will work only when we yield to Him and be sensitive to Him.

Materialism And Compromise

God judges us according to the light that we have received. Jesus told the Jews of His day that their judgment would be even more severe than that of Sodom and Gomorrah, because they had received a much greater revelation of truth (Mathew 11:20-24).

Many of us fail to realize that God’s judgment does not begin with the people of this world, but the people of God. Peter told the Christians of his day “For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the Gospel of God?” (1 Peter 4:17). These words applies very much to us even today.Out of all the sins it is enough if we consider these two sins in this world today among the believers: Materialism and Compromise.

In Luke 17:26-30 Jesus predicted that the period before His return would be like the days of Noah and Lot. He mentioned specifically eight activities characteristic of those days: eating, drinking, marrying, giving in marriage, buying, selling, building and planting. These activities didn’t seem to be sinful, but the problem was Materialism. The people of those days had become so engrossed in these materialistic activities that they were unaware of the impending judgment of God on their carnal lifestyle. When judgment came, they were totally unaware.

The same is true for most of us today - A
re we prepared if the final judgment of God comes suddenly today?

Like materialism, the sin of compromise often goes unrecognized. In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Paul wrote, “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” We see this in lives of many believers today, people buys in their own world and totally unconcerned about others or the crisis in our nation/city that we live in. God requires us to respond to these present crisis by following 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and healthier land”.

The problem with many of us today is that we haven’t followed (fulfilled) the first condition, “we have never truly humbled ourselves”. Our pride both spiritual and worldly remains as a great barrier that holds back the answers to our prayers for ourselves and also for others. The most effective way for us to humble ourselves is by confessing our sins.
The bible encourages us to confess our sins not only to God, but also to one another. “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed” (James 5:16). We can hardly maintain an attitude of pride if we confess our sins to each another.

Let us seek His face and also seek His help to enable us to accept our personal responsibility towards Him and also towards others.

Be Strong & Courageous

Deuteronomy 31:8 - It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

We serve a God who encourages us, He knows our highs, lows and depths. More than us, He knows our weaknesses and our emotions, so He always encourages us to be strong and courageous.

There could be overwhelming circumstances, compelling situations that can hold us up, but only God can set us free from these strongholds. And we know for sure that He will get us out of every stronghold that can ever hold us in our lives. Then the question that arises here is - when we know the outcome, then why walk in fear or discouragement? Is He not faithful to complete every work that He has begun in our lives?  Isaiah 66:9 - Shall I bring to the point of birth and not cause to bring forth?”says the Lord;“shall I, who cause to bring forth, shut the womb?”says your God.

As long as we are in this world, there will be suffering - mental, physical, emotional, even Jesus himself had to face every kind of tribulation and only thing that can hold us stronger in these times, is the communion with our Saviour and the encouragement through the Holy Spirit of God. He releases His peace which is far beyond our understanding and more than enough for bringing down every emotional fire in us. John 16:33 - I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

Let's cast all our burden unto Him for He cares for us and we need not walk in fear for He is with us always.

Endurance

Psalms 123:1 – “ I lift up my eyes to you, to you whose throne is in heaven.”

The reason we lift up our eyes to God is because the Lord is in His heavenly throne (Holy Temple) and He observes the sons of men; and His eyes examines us (Ps11: 4). So that after observing and examining He can raise the poor from the dust and the needy from the ash heap, and make them sit with the princes of the chosen people (Ps 113: 7-8).

Ps 123: 2 – “As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God till he shows us his mercy.”

Servant and maid are the two similes by which a faithful (men and women) present themselves as humble and completely dependent upon God. As a servant depends upon his master for all their needs to be met, so we depend upon our God and moreover we are His “Bondservant.”

A servant works for wages because he knows that at the end, he will get paid for all the work he has done and more than the service that he renders for his master, his focus is on the wages that he gets at the end of the month and once the servant stops getting his wages, he stops working. But a Bondservant of God, no matter whether he gets his provision or not, whether his needs are met or not, he constantly, consistently, continuously works for his master and remains faithful to him until the point of death. We can learn this from the life of Paul, many a times he went without food, even then he was faithful to God. So this means that whether we are in plenty or poverty, prosperity or adversity, our eyes should be fixed on our Master, who created the heaven and earth and also created us.

Therefore, “Endurance” is a part of our Christian living. Whether at home or in the market place, we are called to endure hardship like a good soldier of Christ Jesus (2Tim 2:3) and if we endure we will also reign with Him (2Tim 2:12A). Because endurance is a commandment of God, which our Lord Jesus himself practiced and taught us, therefore He says that if we keep the command of enduring patiently in all circumstances, He will also keep us from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth (Rev 3:10).

Our God is a God of hope and therefore he instructs us to have hope in Him through endurance and encouragement of scriptures (His Word) Rom.15:4A). The hope refers to the divine hope that a believer should have in his life by the power of the Holy Spirit (Rom.15:13).

Boasting

Proverbs 27:1 -“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.”

We live in a world where boasting is considered to be a part and parcel of life, from children to grownups the phenomenon is same boasting about others but a majority of times boasting about themselves. However, in our spiritual life there is nothing like boasting about self, but there is indeed boasting about the cross of Christ. Boasting is different from the visions and dreams of a believer, its like two different sides of a coin and believers do speak about their future dreams and vision, well if it is from God then it is indeed vision and dream, but if it is from self then it could be boasting.

We cannot know our future plans without the help of God, we can only plan, but God determines the steps (Pro.16:9). Boasting about self (about our worldly or spiritual achievements) brings forth pride in our life, which will in turn stop the blessings (grace) from God. “Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.” (Pro.26:12).

Boasting starts when we talk about ourselves (achievements, experiences, and deeds), start comparing ourselves with others and eventually start praising ourselves therefore it says in Proverbs 21:2, “Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; someone else and not your own lips.”
Paul confirms this in 2 Corinthians 10:12-14 & 17-18, “We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves with themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. We, however, will not boast beyond proper limits, but will confine our boasting to the field God has assigned to us, a field that reaches even to us. But, “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.” Paul continues to state the same about self-boasting in 1 Corinthians 1:28 &29, “ For God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things – and the things that are not – to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before Him.” David says in Psalms 34:2, “My soul will boast in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.”

Let's make it our aim to boast only about our Lord Jesus and not about ourselves (our experiences, talents, gifts, and achievements), no matter if we are being used mightily by God, for He uses simple things of this world to bring extraordinary results and extraordinary things which are far beyond human understanding.

Divine Prosperity

Prosperity is a growth in itself; some relate it to their financial and material growth and others to their worldly accomplishments. As a believer deep down in our heart we tend to seek prosperity in our life and that’s also the way that God blesses one with. But many a times we also relate it to the achievements in our personal life. Divine or Spiritual prosperity as the word itself convey that the Prosperity related to the Spirit or in other words prosperity that is led and controlled by the Holy Spirit of God, but not everyone can have access to it because He gives as He pleases. Some tried with their natural efforts and have miserably failed because prosperity is the reward of righteous (Proverbs 13:21b) and he who pursues righteousness and love finds life prosperity and honor (Proverbs 21:21).

In the Old Testament we read about prosperity where it mostly meant money, property, material blessing, but in the New Testament we read about“Spiritual Prosperity” which is the ability to partake and participate in the divine nature of the Most High (1 Peter 1:4). What more do we want? That we are able to partake in His Holiness, which only a few in the Old Testament experienced. All the things of this world are perishable and as a believer we are to set our mind and heart on imperishable gifts through the power of the Holy Spirit of God. There are two keys, which open the doors of spiritual prosperity in our life through the power of the Holy Spirit of God, and they are: Commitment & Obedience.

These keys are not mere words but there is something more added to it, it’s the basic foundation of Christian living adopted and practiced by mighty men of God. If you are experiencing stillness in your walk with God, then this is the right time that we make these keywords our real foundation in life. The one way that we can practice by everyday subjection (submission) and commit our life to Him (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit) and be obedient to His thoughts and words for they are more precious to us than anything else in this world (Ps. 139:17); commitment to seek His guidance everyday, instruction and advice through His Word and then being obedient to it not only for that day but all the days of our life because the foundation doesn’t hold the structure (building) only for a day but its for ever if it’s a strong foundation.
Let's thirst for His divine prosperity by totally committing our life to Him and by obeying His commands (words) by giving Him all the glory sand He will give us the desires of our heart (Psalms 37:4).

Be Strong And Courageous

Deuteronomy 31:23- "And the Lord commissioned Joshua the son of Nun and said, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall bring the people of Israel into the land that I swore to give them. I will be with you.”

Our God is a great God and He deals at all levels of leadership not just at one level (one point contact). He has a perfect plan for each and every one of us, so He deals with all of us.

We are His chosen people therefore He encourages us to be strong and courageous because He is going to use us to touch many lives and bring them all to His fold. The question here is are we available for His work or are we too busy in our own work thereby negating His call over our lives?

And when He calls us, He also makes sure that He is with us always to lead us and guide us.

Let's strive to be the people after His heart so that He uses us to impact the very world that we're living in.

God's Judgement

Zephaniah 3:6-7 - “I have cut off nations; their battlements are in ruins; I have laid waste their streets so that no one walks in them; their cities have been made desolate, without a man, without an inhabitant. I said, ‘Surely you will fear me; you will accept correction. Then your dwelling would not be cut off according to all that I have appointed against you. ’ But all the more they were eager to make all their deeds corrupt."

Our Holy God hates sin in those who are closer to him and He hates those who are rebellious and defiled. There will be a time when God will start judging the nations, for His anger is like a consuming fire which can wipe out an entire nation. Are we not responsible for saving the nation? Are we standing in the gap and interceding for our nation? Asking God to clean our political system and bring the righteous to power, who will do His will and carry out His plan.

Some of us have been rebellious in our ways and its time to bring correction in our lives before the Judgement Day! and once we accept our mistakes and confess before Him, then He is faithful to forgive us and we become righteous in His sight and the next thing is to pray for our nation that it should not be cut off because of its unrighteousness.

We see corruption, idolatry, and every kinds of sin growing in our nation and its time for us to stand in the gap to pray/intercede for our nation to be saved from His wrath. Psalms 100:5 - "For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations"

Holiness

Holiness is the state of being holy or sacred. We come across this particular term “Holiness” many number of times in the Bible, and that means to us that each and every day of our life we are called to be holy and walk in His holiness because without holiness no one will see God (Heb12:14).
Isaiah 66:1 says, “Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool.” And God esteems the one who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at His word (reverence towards God) (Is.66:2b). For God accept no other means of attaining holiness and earthly offerings has no meaning in the kingdom of God (abomination to God), For it is written Isa.66:3 says, “But whoever sacrifices a bull is like one who kills a man, and whoever offers a land, like one who breaks a dog’s neck; whoever makes a grain offering is like one who presents pigs blood and whoever burns memorial incense, like one who worships an idol. They have chosen their own ways, and their souls delight in their abominations”. Therefore God says, “For those who have chosen their abominations, God chose harsh treatment for them and will bring upon them what they dread” (Isa.66:4).

How many of us can deny this? If you say I wasn’t an idol worshipper, remember “idol” is not just a carved image rather anything that takes the place between you and God is an “idol”, in other words the thing (person, object, substance, money, your job, your sinful pleasures, habits etc.) that separates you from God is an “idol”. Paul continues to say, “But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips”. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its creator” (Col.3:8-10) and 2 Cor.5:17 says, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old is gone, the new has come”.

Our holiness is not one-sided, for God himself is interested in our holiness because he said, “Be holy for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16).
When we live a life of holiness, will He not rewards us? For God says, “Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery? Do I close up the womb when I bring to delivery?” (Isa.66:9). Even if the path of holiness is difficult (tough) God says, “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you” (Isa.66:13a).

The Power Of Our Words

Ecclesiastes 5:2 - "Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few."

We need to be careful with the words that we use before God because He is our creator and life & death is in His hands. Like how careful we are in the presence of our people whom God has placed over our lives then how much more should we be careful in the presence of our living God?

There is great difference between God's authority and the authority of this world. God doesn't enforce His authority over us unlike the world, He has give us a free will to walk in His statutes and when we do that then He will surely bless us and lift us up.

The word of God says that out of the abundance of our heart our mouth speaks, so what is in our heart towards Him? - is it love, respect, reverence? We need to set our heart right before God only then He can work through us (or use us). Life and death is in our tongue - the words that we use can either build us or destroy us.

In the Word of God, we see a very clear explanation about this - James 3: 2-10 - "For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. Look at the ships also:though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so."

Let's make every effort to use the right words that edifies (builds) others and be mindful of our words that we utter before our living God.

Have A Blessed Day!

Trusting God

Psalms 22:5 - "To you they cried and were rescued; in you they trusted and were not put to shame."

Past experiences of godly people is a ground of trust. When we read (see) through the lives of godly people of our times, their life experiences and walk with God truly boosts up our trust in God. Even when we read about the lives of people in the bible like Daniel, Elijah, Elisha, David, Joseph, Peter, John, Paul...etc., we see all their lives were based on trust and faith in God.

They were all ordinary people who did extraordinary works during their times, which clearly shows that when we trust in God, He will always be with us and see to it that we are never put to shame.

Basically, all relationships exists on the basis of trust - our family, friends, job everything. And the more we trust each other, the more stronger the relationship grows (matures) and comes to a point of total trust and dependance.

Have we reached this point in our walk with God? Do we trust Him completely irrespective of our situations and circumstances in life?

God created us because He trusts us that we'll walk with Him and do His will, so let's trust in Him at all times and have a growing relationship with our living God.

Have A Blessed Day!

A Holy Ambition

Everybody has ambitions in life and that ambition dictates the overall personality of a person. In our spiritual walk with God, do we live with the same ambition that God has for us? Something to be pondered upon! Or are we living with the ambition of a common man. The ambition that is gripping Christians today is the predominance of worldly desires and its accomplishments.

The one common sin that drifts away the spiritual ambition in our life is Spiritual Prideness. The following are the comments of a spiritually pride individual:

1. I know everything…
2. I am experienced & I am very strong in God as I spend more time in prayer…
3. Only I have the anointing (power) from God…
4. Only I can use the gifts of God more effectively & efficiently…

“For when pride comes, then comes disgrace” (Pro 11:2a) and “a man’s pride brings him low” (Pro 29:23a) and “pride goes before destruction” (Pro 16:18a).

In Romans 15:1 Paul says, “We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.” The word “strong” refers to the strong Christians whose personal convictions allow them more freedom than the weak. So here Paul instructs us not to overlook the scruples (concerns) of the weak, but to uphold them lovingly.

The Word of God never instructs the people who are “strong” to sit on the throne of pride and lookdown upon everybody for everything, but to have the attitude of Christ and imitate Him, Who, being in the very nature God, did not consider equality with God, something to be grasped (Phil.2: 5&6) and the Word of God continues to state that we should be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose and by doing nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility considering others better than ourselves without looking at our own interests, but also to the interests of others. (Phil.2:2-4) “For each of us will give an account of himself to God” (Rom.14:12), “for in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measures you use, it will be measured to you” (Matt.7:2).

Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification (Rom.14:19) and each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For even Christ did not please himself. (Rom.15:2&3a) and live out a life with a ambition to serve (please/obey) Him wholeheartedly.

Have A Blessed Day!

Effect of Prayer

Why are some of us still struggling with problems in life? And how long will we succumb to the devices of satan in our lives? Even if we want to come out of it then how’s it possible?
These may be some of the frequent questions that torment our minds. The main work of satan is to totally discourage, demotivate and completely defeat us. God requires our faith to be shown in action and the one way of doing it is through our prayer.

We read in Mark 9:17 that when a man brought his son, who was possessed by the spirit which troubled him and made him dumb, and then the man says the he took his son to the disciples but even they could not cast that evil spirit out. Then we read that Jesus commanded the spirit to leave the boy and it left. Then the disciples asked Jesus why couldn’t they drive it out? Then Jesus said, “This kind can come out only by prayer.” (Mark 9:29) What a powerful words. Are you experiencing struggles after struggles or consistent onset of problems or sudden outbreak of diseases in your family? only fervent prayer can set your free from all attacks of the enemy.

It is Jesus who gives us the authority over evil spirits (Mark 6:7) and we can receive this authority only through prayer. Therefore Paul instructs us to watch and pray fervently, consistently and without ceasing at all times. When you look at the life of Jesus Christ when he was on the earth He always withdrew Himself from the crowd to have communion with the Father. Therefore Jesus said, “Abide (remain) in me and I’ll abide (remain) in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” (John 15:4) Therefore we have to always abide in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ otherwise we cannot exercise His authority in our lives and again this is possible only through our prayers.

Therefore prayer is one of the strongest armor of God that we need to always put on to defeat satan and his works and pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests (Ephesians 6:18a) and be joyful always; pray continuously; give thanks in all circumstances, for his is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thes. 5:16-18)

My Help Comes From The Lord

Psalms 121: 1-2 - I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth."

God has promised that He will and He has sent the Helper to help us - The Holy Spirit of God.

Before Jesus went to Heaven to be with the Father, He promised that He will send us the Helper and in fact He has sent it already, so how many of us have received (or accepted/invited) this Helper in our lives?

He is the answer to all our questions and a solution to all our problems. He will guard us and take care of all our needs.

Our Helper (Holy Spirit) is accessible at all times, through Him God created Heaven and Earth and everything in it, including us, so how much more should we be relying on Him and be sensitive to Him?

Let's accept and receive The Holy Spirit in our lives, who is our Preserver and Comforter, and will abide with us for ever.

Have A Blessed Day!
