Jesus is Alive

Revelations 1:18 - "Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades."

The incorruptible truth that our Lord Jesus is 'Alive' should occupy our lives (mind, heart and body) daily and our actions to based on the fact that He is with us always, now and forevermore. Even death could not hold Him captive and He rose up from the death with keys of life and death. Therefore Jesus said - "“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?"

If we believe this, then our complete outlook towards life should change and we should become the change makers in this world. Our lives should be a reflection of His glory and manifestation of His wondrous works upon our lives. Are we ready for this? The hour us coming soon when we'll all be caught up in a moment, the moment that defines our eternal destiny.

Indeed, this is a mystery - "Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: 'Death is swallowed up in victory.' " - 1 Corinthian 15:51-54

Let's live our lives meaningfully, knowing the fact that He is Alive and will be with us forever.

God of Faithfulness

Deuteronomy 32:4 - "The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he."

Our God is a God of 'faithfulness' without injustice, righteous and upright in all His dealings. Many a times God shows His faithfulness even in the midst of our faithlessness. We also tend to forget that the Creator of Heaven and Earth also created us and He is always by our side. And nothing can separate us from His love. - Romans 8:38 - "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Are we faithful to God?

God is faithful because that is His character, just like He is Holy, or He is Love, or He is Righteousness. We cannot make God not faithful, whatever we have done; it will not make Him less faithful. We only can be faithful to someone we loved; and so is God, He is faithful because He loves us, and nothing will and can separate us from His mighty love. We may run away from many places, BUT we will never run away from His love. Deuteronomy 7:9 says - Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations."

How big is your faith to God, depends on how faithful you are to Him (and His Word).

Secrets of Men

Romans 2:16 - "on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus."

A very powerful verse that can change our destiny, open our eyes to the truth and set us free from every stronghold (or bondage) in our lives.

God is holy and He wants each and everyone of us to be 'Holy'. We need to thank God every day for not judging us according to our sins and being good to us, sparing our lives. We should never take advantage of God's mercy, its only for a season and then it will cease, so let us be watchful over our lives.

Let's ask the Holy Spirit to reveal all our secret sins, knowingly or unknowingly which might have taken deep roots in our lives, maybe we would have overlooked it without realising that it could lead us to judgement- eternal punishment.

The second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is near so its time to be more sensitive to the work of the Holy Spirit and to rely upon Him completely and seeking His guidance and direction to be effective 'end time' labourers ready for the harvest of souls for the kingdom of God.

We need to check our spiritual condition (body, heart, mind) everyday and keep it clean (free) from every corruptible things of this world so that we are safe on the 'Judgement Day'.

Have A Blessed Day!

Comforter

Isaiah 66:13 - "As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem."

The word comfort comes from the Greek word parakle„sis. Parakle„sis is made up of para meaning beside, and kaleo„ meaning to call. The Christian who is suffering needs a special kind of comfort that only God can give. As our loving Comforter, He stands by our side to minister the soothing balm we need.

God's comfort is unique. It is infinite, inexhaustible, immutable, and indestructible. Our afflictions are temporary and transient; God's comfort is everlasting. It is available at all times. Some Christians are prone to forget how real and precious God's love and comfort were when they received the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior.

Our Heavenly Father does care, and He does comfort. Let's turn to Him and give Him the privilege of ministering to our need. We are His child, and He is there when we're hurt.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too." - 2 Corinthians 1:3-5

Temptation

Hebrews 2:18 - "For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted."

God himself had to go through temptation so He is able to help those who are going through temptations in life. He has overcome temptations and defeated the enemy and the same strength (power) is in us which will enable us to overcome every attacks of Satan. Secondly, we are tempted because of our own desires, we read this is James 1:14-16 - "But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers."

Jesus taught us to be watchful and pray so that we don't fall into temptations - "Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”- Mathew 26:41.

So how do we overcome temptation?

I . Believing and trusting God that He will provide us a way out -
1 Corinthians 10:13 - "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

II. Wearing the whole armour of God -
Ephesians 6:13-17 - "Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

"Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him." - James 1:12

Deliverance

Psalms 91:14 - "Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name."

Deliverance is defined as “a rescue from bondage or danger.” Deliverance in the Bible is the acts of God whereby He rescues His people from peril. In the Old Testament, deliverance is focused primarily on God’s removal of those who are in the midst of trouble or danger. He rescues His people from their enemies and from the hand of the wicked, famine etc.

In the New Testament, God is always the 'subject' and we are always the object of deliverance. He offers deliverance from —sin, evil, death and judgment. By God’s power, believers are delivered in this world and from the power of Satan’s reign. All aspects of deliverance are available only through the person and work of Jesus Christ, who was Himself delivered up for us, so that we would be delivered from eternal punishment (judgement) for sin. Only Jesus rescues us from the “wrath to come”.

Let's believe in the resurrection power of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and seek His deliverance upon our lives from all our sins.

Steadfast Love

Psalms 117:2 - "For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord"

To whom does God show His steadfast love? To the one who walks righteously, and speaks what is right, who rejects gain from extortion (one who rejects dishonest gain) and keeps his hand from accepting bribes (keeps his hands off from undue or illegal favor), who stops his ears against plots of murder (keeps his mind and heart away from evil thoughts) and shuts his eyes against contemplating murder (Isaiah 33: 15). In other words God’s stedfast love is experienced by the one who keeps his life away from every form of ungodliness and worldly passions. Titus 2:11 & 12 says, “For the grace (tender mercies) of God has appeared and it teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions."

The Scripture is very clear that every form of ungodliness and worldly passions must be uprooted from our lives to experience the grace of God and to remain under His steadfast love. James 2:10 says, “ For whoever keeps the whole law (teachings) and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.” This means that if any form of ungodliness or worldly passion still exists in our lives then we find ourselves away from the grace and mercy of God.

Therefore I urge you brethren to be joyful always (irrespective of the situation you are in); pray continuously; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thes. 5:16).

Honey From Rock

Psalms 81:16 - "But he would feed you with the finest of the wheat, and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you."

This is a season of supernatural blessings so expect God to do signs and wonders in our lives. We will see impossible things becoming possible in our lives because of His intervention.  God will renew our strength and help us to fly high for His name sake and His glory.

Honey flowing out of the rock is not a common thing, its supernatural! Yet our God is a God of miracles and He will strengthen us, sustain us and shower His tender mercies upon us.
Deuteronomy 32:13 - "He made him ride on the high places of the land, and he ate the produce of the field, and he suckled him with honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock."

So let's be hopeful, trusting in Him at all times, walking in His light (ways) and obeying His commands, for a season of blessing is near which will transform our lives completely.

Inner Healing

Psalms 42:5 - "Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God."

Inner healing comes through the uprooting of negative memories (thoughts) or hurts caused by others in our lives that are supposedly buried in the subconscious mind from where they tend to dictate our behavior without us even knowing it. Thus, the blame for one's bad behaviour (emotional problems) in the present is placed upon others (who are perceived to have sinned against us in the past) rather than upon ourselves where it belongs.

God desires to heal our wounds and take our pain and hurt from us and He loves us so much that He paid the price for our emotional healing in the work on the cross - Isaiah 53:4 - "Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted."

Do you want to receive healing from emotional wounds, pain, sorrows, grief, and anguish? It is vital that we take advantage of what Christ has done for us, and learn to cast our cares upon the Lord. Not some of them, but ALL of them; knowing that He cares for you and wants to take those things from you.
Forgiving ourself is a vital step that we must take while seeking inner healing. We need to love and appreciate the person that Christ has made in us! Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ - (Romans 5:1)

Let's continuously seek God to forgive us of all our sins and set us free from all emotional bondages so that we receive His healing and walk in His love, joy and peace.

Tender Mercy

Psalms 86:15 - "But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness."

The foremost reason of our existence is because of His abounding grace and tender mercies. We are not consumed in His anger because of our folly and His love and grace has slowed down His anger upon mankind. His desire is that no soul should perish and that all should be saved.

Our God is a God of mercy, His mercies extends to the Heaven and they are new every morning, so are we humble enough to draw towards His mercy every morning? The more we draw towards Him, the more He will draw toward us.

We have seen it and probably experiencing His stedfast love upon our lives that never ceases and His mercy never comes to an end, what a faithful and mighty God we serve! He will not remember our sins anymore and when we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us of all our sins and cleanse us of all our unrighteousness (1 John 1:9-10).

'Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life' - Psalms 143:8

Rejoice in the Lord

Phillippians 4:4-7 - "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice."

Paul had wrote this when he was in prison and not a conducive environment to write such encouraging and powerful letters, but His trust was in God and he had godly peace guarding his heart and mind which enabled him to be joyful irrespective of the circumstances.

Joy is a mindset rather than a particular set of circumstances. There are many things in life which are beyond our control. But the attitude of rejoicing is something that we can control. We can choose to live life joyfully! Happiness is tied to circumstances. We are happy when things go well, when we get a promotion, when we hear the applause of the crowd, when we see success. But happiness disappears when life is difficult: when illness strikes, when someone we love dies, when we face an unpleasant task, when we have to confront criticism. We do not enjoy those times.

Joy is different from happiness. Joy is an attitude. It is an approach to life rather than a reaction to life. Joy is a way of looking at life that is not affected by circumstances.

Let's learn to be joyful at all times by staying close to the source of joy and the more closer we are to Him, the greater the experience of joy in our living.

God's Army

2 Timothy 2:3-4 - "Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him."

I. Why an Army?
A-Because we are at war

1. The battle lines were drawn long ago.
2. There is a battle being waged for the souls of men and women…boys and girls.
3. Just as our soldiers are fighting to maintain safety for us against terrorists.
4. We have been chosen to bring the message of freedom to people who are bound by sin.
5. That message is the only way for people to be set free.

II. What's the mark of a good soldier?

1. A good soldier endures hardness
2. A Good Soldier Enlists Others
3. A good so`ldier will not collaborate with the enemy.
4. A good soldier believes in the cause.

Are we serving as faithful and good soldiers in the army of the Lord?

Let's challenge ourselves to go forward for the cause of Christ and be good soldiers for Him.

Shepherd

Jeremiah 3:15 - "And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding."

Do we have shepherds over our lives who are after God's heart? Who provides us with spiritual food?
This is the promise of God, that when we return to Him and seek His mercy then He will place us under (with) the right Shepherds who will help us to grow spiritually and become a mature Christian.

And if we are in the leadership position (shepherding a flock) then we must remember what Jesus taught us - that a “Good Shepherd” cares for His sheep, so much so that He will lay down His life for them. He cares for the sheep because they are His sheep. And because they are His sheep, He knows them, and they know Him. They recognize His voice, and they follow Him. Ultimately, the Good Shepherd lays down His life for His sheep.

So as you fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings and as one who shares in the glory that will be revealed, I urge the elders among you: Give a shepherd’s care to God’s flock among you, exercising oversight not merely as a duty but willingly under God’s direction, not for shameful profit but eagerly. And do not lord it over those entrusted to you, but be examples to the flock. Then when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that never fades away - (1 Peter 5:1-4)

Friend of God

John 15:14-15 - "You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you."

Do we consider ourself a friend of God or a servant of God? God calls us as His friends if we obey His commands and not servants, the whole attitude of mankind will change when we apply this principle in our lives. When we consider those under our authority as friends then obedience will not be out of fear but out of love and respect.

James 2:23 - "The Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God." We see one of the highest titles, if not the highest, that can be given to an earthling. "He was a friend of God." Friendship in this connotation is speaking of intimacy. More than just a close acquaintance. "One who is attached to another by affection." So, we must understand that there was a reason why Abraham was called "The Friend of God." It is possible to be a child of God and not be a friend of God. It is possible to be saved and not have that intimate relationship with God that would qualify us as His friend.

Let's examine our lives (our walk) today to see whether we are really a friend of God obeying His commands or do we have to bring correction to qualify as His friend.

Christian Walk

Ephesians 4:1-3 - "I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."

If we look at the life of Apostle Paul, he always claimed himself as a 'prisoner for the Lord' and  a 'bonded labor'. This shows his humility and a life which is totally surrendered to God, being dead to ourself (our flesh) and being alive in Christ. A life of complete dependance on God irrespective of His blessings over our lives.

What does it mean to "walk with God"? First, that the prevailing power of enmity in a person's heart has been taken away by the blessed Spirit of God. Secondly, that the person has actually been reconciled to God the Father. Thirdly, that the person has an abiding communion and fellowship with the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. Finally, walking with God implies our making progress in our spiritual life and walking which requires a progressive motion and we need to walk by faith, not by sight.

We need to walk worthy of our calling which means that we need to maintain a blameless life, being humble, gentle and patient; upholding and encouraging one another and above all we need to spread the gospel of 'love' as God loves us unconditionally (without measure).

Favour And Honor

Psalms 84:11 - "For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honour. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly."

Upright walk is the prerequisite for God's favour and honour over our lives. We need to be right in the sight of God and also in the sight of man, leading a blameless life and ascertaining that we have a clear image in the society owing to our righteous walk with God.

God wants us to be holy as He is holy and He wants to bless our lives, however He can only act when we react to his truth and lead a holy (righteous) life.

Our walk in life should be upright as we read in Ephesians 4:25-32 - "Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil. Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."

If our walk is not upright then we cannot expect God's favour or honour. It takes great efforts to put forth the right foot always and when we start living like that then we can be sure that no good thing will ever be withhold from us.

Immanuel

Genesis 28:15 - "Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you."

God with us - we call Him 'Immanuel' is with us always, watching over our lives. Our God who neither sleeps nor slumbers, takes care of us 24X7 and looks for opportunities to bless us. What a mighty God we serve!

He encourages us everyday to boldly take up every task that lies ahead of us and not to worry about anything because worry will only give rise to disbelief thereby breaking our trust and faith upon Him and making us feel miserable. Our focus should be upon Him always because He is not done with us yet and will not leave us until He fulfils His promises over our lives.

Jesus said in Mathew 6:25-33 - "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air:they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow:they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat? ’ or ‘What shall we drink? ’ or ‘What shall we wear? ’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

Let's completely rely upon our faithful God who will fulfil every promise that He has made over our lives.

Have A Blessed Day!
